This Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2023 from Domaine Denis Bachelet, born from old Pinot Noir vines, combines black fruits, spices, and chalky minerality. Aged in barrels, it offers a dense palate and silky tannins. Ideal with game or cheeses, it can be cellared for 10 to 15 years.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, where time seems suspended between tradition and precision.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Côte de Nuits, the birthplace of great Pinot Noir, shaping wines of rare dark minerality and depth.
- Winemaking : Natural methods — total destemming, indigenous yeasts, aging in used barrels — to reveal the authenticity of the terroir without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Denis Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2023
- Appearance : Deep red color with violet highlights, dense and silky.
- On the nose : Fresh black raspberry and morello cherry, followed by darker notes of prune and raw cacao, before a saline touch and a hint of cedar anchor the bouquet in the soils of Gevrey.
- On the palate : A precise and vibrant attack, where lively acidity meets ripe and chalky tannins, while a dark minerality extends the finish into a long trail of black fruits and gentle spices.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where cool nights preserved the tension and purity of the fruit.
- Aging potential : To be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, to allow time to reveal its mineral layers.
