Tasting notes for Château Léoville Poyferré 2004
To the eye – A deep garnet red robe, with still-vivid reflections, revealing a dense texture and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, wild blackberry, cedar and golden tobacco, lifted by a touch of graphite and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate – A silky attack, precise acidity and a velvety tannic framework, carried by notes of liquorice and cocoa, for a long and saline finish.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
