The Château Mouton Rothschild 2005, Premier Cru Classé of Pauillac, comes from the gravel soils of Médoc. This blend (85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot) reveals notes of blackberry and cedar, aged in oak barrels. Structured and elegant, it pairs with game or improves until 2040.
Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this family estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 19th century, combining viticultural tradition and artistic boldness.
- Terroir: 82 hectares of stony gravel over a clay-gravel subsoil, the signature of the great wines of Pauillac, where Cabernet Sauvignon reveals its mineral power.
- Vinification: Aging in new oak barrels, respect for the fruit and precision in the blending, for cuvées of rare longevity.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild Mouton Rothschild 2005
To the eye: a deep purple color with garnet reflections, of a silky density that heralds a generous and velvety substance.
On the nose: aromas of ripe blackcurrant intertwine with notes of cedar, blond tobacco and liquorice, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite, like a mineral breath rising from the gravel.
On the palate: a full and fleshy texture, carried by tannins of a chalky finesse, a lively acidity that gives the wine tension, and a long finish where soft spices and candied dark fruits mingle.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
