The Château Léoville Barton 2005, a fine wine from Saint-Julien, comes from the clayey gravels of Bordeaux. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon (73.5%) and Merlot, aged 16 to 18 months in oak barrels. Structured, mineral, with aromas of black fruits and spices. Perfect until 2035 with meats and cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the legendary terroir of Saint-Julien, where the Bordeaux heritage has been passed down since 1826.
– Terroir: Clayey gravels of the Médoc, a favoured soil for wines of mineral elegance and precise structure.
– Vinification: Patient aging in French oak barrels, combining tradition and rigour to reveal the purity of the fruit and the tension of the tannins.
On the eye – A deep garnet robe with violet highlights, dense and silky, like a mineral velvet capturing the light.
On the nose – First aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of cedar and blonde tobacco, before a subtle chalky note underscores the freshness of the terroir.
On the palate – A broad and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality, while the tannins, still firm, draw a long and taut finish, a promise of harmonious development.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
A sunny and balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes is allied with a remarkable tannic structure for a wine of great aging potential.
– Aging Potential: 20 to 30 years, to be stored in a cellar at 15°C, away from temperature variations and light.
