Sourced from the gravelly soils of Pauillac, the Carruades de Lafite 2000 (second wine of the Château) blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Aged in barrels, it reveals notes of black fruits and spices, with a velvety and mineral palate. Perfect through 2030, it pairs beautifully with rich dishes and aged cheeses.

Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild Carruades de Lafite 2000
To the eye: A deep garnet-red robe, with a silky density, where ruby reflections betray a generous maturity and a velvety texture.
On the nose: A bouquet initially marked by aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, evolving towards deeper notes of blonde tobacco, cedar and a saline touch of graphite, like a mineral breath rising from the gravels of Pauillac.
On the palate: The attack is full and fleshy, carried by fine tannins and a lively acidity that brings elegant tension; the long, persistent finish reveals nuances of dark chocolate and soft spices, leaving an impression of purity and complexity.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
