The Château Mouton Rothschild 2006, Premier Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac, is born on pebbly gravel soils. A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot, it reveals notes of blueberry, tobacco and roasted hazelnut. On the palate, crunchy tannins and a lively minerality balance its structure. Ideal through to 2055 with roasted meats or aged cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries, combining family heritage with artistic innovation.
- Terroir : Pebbly gravel soils and clay-gravel subsoil of Pauillac, where Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in a mineral and powerful expression.
- Winemaking : Meticulous blending, ageing in oak barrels, and a pursuit of harmony between tannic structure and silky elegance.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild Mouton Rothschild 2006
To the eye – A cherry red robe of deep intensity, almost velvety, where light dances with a chalky density.
On the nose – First the fresh fruitiness of blueberry, then more enveloping notes of blond tobacco, incense and roasted hazelnut, lifted by a saline and graphite touch.
On the palate – A precise and powerful attack, where crunchy tannins are allied with an unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a persistent minerality, for a finish of remarkable length.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
Vintage 2006
A vintage in which climatic rigour has sculpted a wine that is both structured and refined, the promise of a slow and majestic evolution.
- Ageing potential : To be enjoyed through to 2055, provided it is stored in a cool (12–14°C) cellar and kept away from light.
