Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 17th century, under the stewardship of the Rothschild family since 1868.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and limestone soils of the Médoc, where sandy and chalky terroirs sculpt wines of rare minerality and timeless elegance.
- Vinification : A precise blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and complementary grape varieties, aged 18 to 20 months in new barrels for a silky structure and aromatic complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 1985
- To the eye : A deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a velvety density, where light dances on slow and generous legs.
- On the nose : First fresh notes of blackcurrant and wild blackberry, then deeper effluves of blonde tobacco, cedar and pencil lead, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of damp undergrowth.
- On the palate : A silky, almost caressing attack, where the fine and taut tannins intertwine with a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, before a long and persistent finish marked by aromas of liquorice and aged leather.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.

A vintage of balance and refinement, where the ripeness of the grapes gave birth to wines of classic elegance, combining power and finesse.
