Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 2000
To the eye: A deep ruby-red robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, fresh violet, seasoned cedar and pencil lead, lifted by a saline touch and a subtle hint of blonde tobacco.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and taut finish where gentle spices and dark fruits intertwine.
Serve between 16 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
An exceptional vintage, defined by a perfect balance between ripeness and freshness, where the power of the fruit combines with a tannic structure of rare elegance.
- Aging potential: To be cellared until 2045 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and absence of light).
