Tasting notes for Château Angélus 2007
To the eye – A deep ruby-red robe with garnet reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a generous character and velvety texture. On the nose – First, fresh aromas of black cherry and raspberry, then more enveloping notes of cocoa, vanilla and liquorice, before giving way to a mineral touch and a hint of truffle, as an echo of the clay-limestone terroir. On the palate – A round, ample attack, carried by silky tannins and a lively acidity that brings tension and freshness; the finish, long and persistent, reveals nuances of roasted coffee and toast, with a subtle saltiness that prolongs the pleasure. Serve at 16 °C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
