Tasting notes for Pétrus 1981
- To the eye : Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and a chalky density.
- On the nose : Aromas of wild blackberry, candied prune, cedar and black truffle, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of blonde tobacco.
- On the palate : Velvety attack, supple yet present tannins, lively acidity and persistent minerality, leading to a long and elegant finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to enhance its complexity.
