The Pétrus 2018, a fine wine from Pomerol, is born on a bed of blue clay. This Merlot reveals aromas of blackberries, truffle and spices, refined in oak barrels. On the palate, it combines silkiness and minerality, with a long and elegant finish. Perfect until 2080, it pairs with sauced meats and game.
Nestled in the heart of Pomerol, Pétrus embodies the excellence of a unique terroir and a viticultural heritage passed down with passion by the Moueix family.
- Terroir : 11.4 hectares of blue clay, a rare soil where Merlot reveals its full depth, rooted on the right bank of Bordeaux.
- Vinification : Manual harvesting, ageing in oak barrels – a pursuit of purity and elegance, without compromise.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 2018
To the eye – A purple-black robe, dense and opaque, where light seems to disappear into a velvety, profound matter.
On the nose – First, sun-drenched black fruits, candied blackberries and blueberries, then earthy notes of truffle and undergrowth, lifted by a floral touch of violet and a hint of liquorice, the whole carried by a chalky minerality.
On the palate – A silky, ample texture, where the tension of the fruit mingles with a precise acidity, while tannins of rare finesse extend a saline and persistent finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.

- Aging potential : To be enjoyed from 2024, with a peak expected between 2030 and 2080, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
