Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 2005
To the eye – Deep red robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, fresh cedar and violet, lifted by a hint of graphite and a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A precise and taut attack, evolving towards a velvety texture where silky tannins, lively acidity and persistent minerality intertwine, leading to a remarkably long finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
