The Château Cheval Blanc 1985, born on the gravels and clays of Saint-Émilion, blends Cabernet Franc (60%) and Merlot. Its aromas of sandalwood, leather and spices, aged in oak barrels, precede a silky and mineral palate. To be enjoyed until 2038 with a beef tenderloin with foie gras.

- Vinification: A bold blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, patiently aged in French oak barrels to reveal its full complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc 1985
To the eye – A garnet robe with tawny reflections, of a silky density and a brilliance that betrays its age with grace.
On the nose – First effluves of sandalwood and dried lavender, followed by deeper notes of new leather, blond tobacco and soft spices, all underlined by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate – A velvety, almost unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a subtle minerality; the tannins, perfectly melted, give way to a long and spiced finish where cocoa and candied fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full aromatic range.
Vintage 1985
A sun-drenched and balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes allowed the full finesse of the Cheval Blanc terroir to be expressed.
- Aging potential: At its peak today, this wine can still be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool and humid cellar, away from vibrations.
