The Clos des Varoilles Vieilles Vignes 2021, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, is an oaked red wine from Domaine Prieuré Roch. Red fruits, spices and minerality blend with elegance. On the palate, velvety tannins and enduring freshness. To be cellared for 10 years, it pairs with meats and cheeses.

Nestled in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, this estate embodies the alliance of a Burgundian heritage and a pursuit of viticultural excellence, guided by respect for the living world.
- Terroir : Exceptional parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée or Nuits-Saint-Georges, where clay-limestone soils and old vines sculpt wines of rare depth.
- Winemaking : A biodynamic approach, natural fermentations and precise aging to reveal the purity of the fruit and the minerality of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Prieuré Roch Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Varoilles Vieilles Vignes 2021
- To the eye : A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, dense and luminous, betraying a generous substance and a silky texture.
- On the nose : First, notes of fresh morello cherry and wild blackberry, followed by a touch of liquorice, damp undergrowth and a saline hint reminiscent of the chalky soils of Gevrey.
- On the palate : A frank and fleshy attack, where fine, tight tannins are balanced by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long, elegant finish carried by aromas of violet and gentle spices.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to enhance its complexity.
Vintage 2021
A vintage marked by freshness and tension, where the maturity of the grapes combines with a vibrant acidity, guaranteeing a wine that is both approachable young and endowed with fine aging potential.
- Aging potential : 10 to 15 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
