Château Haut-Brion
A historic estate rooted in the gravels of Pessac-Léognan, the birthplace of great Bordeaux wines since the 16th century.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, shaping wines of rare minerality and elegance.
- Vinification: A meticulous blend of Bordeaux grape varieties, aged with patience to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion Haut-Brion 2000
To the eye: A deep ruby-red robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar, blond tobacco, and a saline touch evoking damp undergrowth.
On the palate: Velvety texture, driven by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with fine tannins and a long finish, marked by hints of licorice and cocoa.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A sun-drenched vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes gave birth to a wine of remarkable concentration and harmony.
- Aging potential: To be kept until 2035-2040 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
