The Château Mouton Rothschild 2016, Premier Cru Classé of Pauillac, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (83%) aged in new oak. Aromas of blackcurrant, graphite and spices, a powerful palate and silky tannins. Best enjoyed after 15 years with red meats or aged cheeses.
Nestled at the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 19th century, combining family tradition with artistic innovation.
- Terroir : 82 hectares of pebbly gravel over clay-gravel subsoil, a mineral setting that forges the powerful and elegant identity of Pauillac wines.
- Vinification : Aging in new oak barrels, meticulous blending of noble grape varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon as the lead — for cuvées of rare precision.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild Mouton Rothschild 2016
- Appearance : A deep purple robe of silky density, where light reflects with an almost mineral intensity.
- On the nose : First, fresh dark fruits — blackcurrant and blueberry — that bloom into notes of violet and graphite, before revealing deeper touches of tobacco and soft spices, carried by a subtle saltiness.
- On the palate : A velvety, almost chalky texture, where lively acidity and tight tannins create an elegant tension; the long and persistent finish leaves an imprint of cocoa and gunflint.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
2016 Vintage
