- Terroir : Deep, well-drained gravels of the Left Bank, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives under a temperate oceanic climate, conferring on the wines a mineral structure and an unrivalled elegance.
- Vinification : A rigorous parcel selection and aging in new oak barrels, for cuvées that are both powerful and of remarkable aromatic precision.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild Mouton Rothschild 1999
On the eye – A deep garnet red robe, of a silky density, where the tawny reflections already betray the maturity and complexity of time.
On the nose – First an explosion of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by more enveloping notes of blonde tobacco, liquorice and a saline touch, like a sea breeze over the gravels of Pauillac.
On the palate – A velvety but taut texture, where the lively acidity and melted tannins balance with a chalky minerality, before a long and spiced finish, marked by nuances of vanilla and candied fruits.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full aromatic palette.
